Convocation: Litany of Supplication
The Litany of Supplication, a responsive prayer from Chapel Field’s Convocation Service on Friday, September 08, 2023.
Lord God, we pray for our students; for our pre-k and elementary students whose young minds and souls need the good soil of a godly education to lay strong roots for a life of faithfulness. For our junior high students; for their growth and maturity, for minds furnished and equipped to serve you, and for our high school students, that they may become godly young men and women whose chief ambition is to live for your glory. Grant them all a blessed year in which each student grows in wisdom and stature and holiness. Guard them from the idolatrous delusions of our age and instead, order their affections that they may more sincerely love what you love.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for the parents and families of our students. Give them wisdom in the raising of their children. Give them joy and peace that they may savor each day’s blessing. Grant them protection in all of their comings and goings. Sustain them throughout the trials of this year. Provide for all of their needs as they seek to give their children the gift of a Christian education. Draw each family closer together in Christ throughout this year and bind us all together as a strong Christ-centered community.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for our athletic programs, for our athletes and our coaches. Grant that they may be witnesses for your glory in all their competitions. Protect them on the playing fields and courts. Protect them as they travel. Bless them with success, but much more, may you build in them, through their athletic endeavors, the discipline and habits necessary for growth in virtue and character.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for our security on campus. We thank you for your sovereign governance over our school and we ask that you keep a hedge of protection around us. Protect us from illness and from any who would seek us harm. Be with our nurse, our security officers, and with the Town of Crawford Police Department. Protect and bless them as they protect us.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for our administration, our board of directors, our faculty, and our staff. Grant wisdom in leadership, in instruction, and in discipline throughout the year. Bless them we pray, that they may be used by you for your glory and for the edification of the students you place in their care. We pray as well for all who donate and volunteer to make the running of this ministry possible. Bless and keep them in your grace.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Grant us all your grace, we pray, that we may love you with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength, and that we might serve you all the days of our lives. We ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
